Greetings from Jake Martin. I'm excited to share my first blog post!

My name is Jake Martin, I'm a Senior at Pace University in New York. My position at The Martin Agency is business consultant. The ability to sit across from my dad and build my own business as he did is a blessing. My heritage is to be self employed. We all need mentorship; my great-grandfather was self-employed in coal and firewood. He delivered heating material by horse cart. He was able to marry my great-grandmother by traveling to Yukon to mine gold when he was 28 years old. All his accounts and adventures were captured in the Bridgeport Post. My Grandfather was a self-employed businessman who ran the first convenience store in Connecticut and continued to run it for 70 years. During that time, he was known as the king of the lottery and was the largest cigarette tobacco retailer in the state.

After studying financial markets, with my colleagues in the city I look forward to thriving in development as well as investment. I am working with my father and his colleagues to develop a very specific set of skills to extract the absolute most revenue from every project and parlay it into the next deal. We don't only work in Connecticut; we have offices in North Carolina, Georgia, New York and most recently now in Dubai. We have worked with everything from 2 family homes - family residences up to a 400-unit apartment complex. We deal with tenants on fixed income as well as tenants in 3-million-dollar penthouses. For the next year my focus will be redeveloping properties in Fairfield County Connecticut & Westchester, New York. I look forward to meeting all our companies’ clients’ resources with the promise that I will uphold our work ethic of 24/7/365. I look forward to working with each and every one of you.
